I came up with this a few nights ago and thanks to my current unemployment I could write it down as well. Not an entry for the fic challenge - I had a last-minute go at that but nothing decent came out.
This story was inspired by a beautiful line Noel said in the Observer interview somebody posted here a while ago. A bit of melodrama, sorry for that. For your reading pleasure ...
