Title: Inside
Rating: G
Pairing: Noel/Julian
Summary: Autumn rains and afternoons spent at cafés.
Disclaimer: Never happened, don't own, don't sue!
A/N: Another short songfic drabble. Written the same afternoon as I'm a Vampire, but definitely NOT as angsty. This is PURE FLUFF. Based on "Inside" by Jobriath.
Outside
Those fools that don't know 'nough to come in out of the rain
Would, you know they would if they could just remain
Inside
Inside with someone like you
Noel sighed. The heavy autumn rain was drumming against the windows of the café, the large raindrops creating a landscape of rivers and streams over the glass surface. The rain had started almost immediately after they had entered the café. That was several hours ago now, but neither of them had felt any need to leave the warm comfort they presently found themselves in. He looked out the window, watching the colourful raincoats run around in the downpour, watching them hop around trying to avoid the larger puddles, watching them go on about their business. On occasion one or two of them would burst into the café and shed their garish plastic covers, underneath revealing actual persons safe and sound from the rain. That could probably be a metaphor for something, he thought and curled his fingers around his hot cuppa. Yet another reason this café was so brilliant: free refills. His hand left the cup to interlace its fingers with the larger hand already resting on the table. He received a gentle squeeze in return.
"What you thinking, little man?"
"Nothin'... Just that it's stupid to run around outside in this weather, innit?" He nodded in the general direction of the window. "I'm just glad I'm inside," he smiled, biting slightly on his lower lip before continuing, "and I'm glad that you are too."
