Trudging wearily up the stairs to the flat, Howard was greeted by the sight of all the furniture stacked in the centre of the room. “What are you doing?”
Vince’s excited face appeared between two chair legs. “Hi Howard, I’m making a castle.”
Howard loved how Vince made it sound like an everyday occurrence. “Well you’re missing the drawbridge, for a start.”
“Drawbridge?” Vince muttered. Confusion etched on his face.
“Yeah, the bridge that you let down, so people can get in.”
“Could you help Howard?”
With that they spent the afternoon lost in a world of castles and magic.
