Yup, I'm new...and lost and confused!!

Even though I've been lurking around here for awhile I still don't know anything about cuts and codes and everything else, so if this goes horribly wrong, I apologise in advance!

..also, I'm working on a story which I would love to post here, and I know I need a beta, but I haven't a clue how to get one, so any help would be most appreciated!!
