Fic challenge #15

Thankyou very much for all your challenge ideas, no doubt we'll use them all in the future (that pornathon one sounds exceedingly promising). I've taken an executive decision (the first and last, never fear) and decided that this challenge is going to be:

Trapped In Cabinets

Now, don't worry, we don't expect you all to come up with the same story, it is merely a theme... Authors have free reign to use it as they feel, as long as there is some evidence of the theme 'trapped' somewhere in their fic. Emotionally, literally, physically... Actually in cabinets.... It's up to you.

Don't forget, we've got nearly 500 members, now: so, new-folk, don't be frightened asking for help/BETA services. There are a lot of friendly slashers on here who don't bite... all that much. Just post a plea and we'll find someone to sort you out. :D

I have a question. :/

Could I use the next, upcoming section of "Journey From Time and Space" as part of the challenge? It would fit the theme, but if it's unfair because it's been around a long time, and/or is itself super-long, I'd totally understand. I'm not even sure I would enter it (or if it'll even be done in time), I was just curious and didn't want to step on any toesies!

I... totally haven't thought about that before!

Thinking about it, though, I would have to say no. Just because the whole point of a challenge is that technically everyone starts from the same prompt, on the same day, if you know what I mean? Everyone starts from scratch, theoretically, so it may be a bit unfair in that 'Journey' is already so well-established and has a whole lot of themes, as well as fans. I think that's what I mean? Does that make sense?

Like I say, I have never thought about it before! Good question! :D Is this alright?

I think you are pretty much right and I agree with you - maybe that should be a rule from now on then, now that I've brought it up? (i.e. no series entries for the challenges?) I totally was NOT trying to pull a "oh, lots of people read 'Journey' so it'll win for sure!" thing, but I'm worried it looks like that now. :/// It was more that I wanted motivation to work on it, and a deadline would have done that. :D
