Anyhoo. We've all seen the videos from the Cargo gig now with Noel spanking Rich, Julian barking out orders in that hat and Noel dropping to his knees in front of Julian. However, what a lot of people are still yet to see is this kiss:




To me, it looks like Noel is kissing Julian on the cheek, but attendees of the gig claim it was definitely a kiss on the lips, albeit a very quick one, but a sweet and tender kiss nonetheless.

Hehe, I can see how you think Julian looks scared, but that's just his rock-star grimace. :P It's a face Ju pulls a lot while playing the guitar. darksafari informed me below that once Noel had dropped to his knees, he then kissed Ju’s guitar, then jumped up and kissed Julian on the lips. It could have been Noel as Gregg kissing Howard, but I'm more inclined to believe it was a genuine kiss, in that Noel had a moment of "how fucking sexy is this man?" and just had to get his hands on him. And I don't blame him, I think Julian is incredibly sexy when playing the guitar.

Thanks for sharing the pic (and the video links - I hadn't seen the last one, and apparently the pic kiss took place right after the kneeling)! And I'm a pretty new fan too, and I agree - such crazy teh gay love and crack-y fun and there's really nothing else like it! A nice break from most of my angsty fandoms...

(Though, heh, my first Boosh fic is quite angsty).

That is the odd thing about Boosh fandom, their live shows, radio and TV show are all full of fun psychedelic crack, but when you venture into the world of RPS – oh, the angst! All of the best Boosh fics I've read so far have been incredibly angsty, too. Maybe because the Boosh is so much fun that we as fans are trying to subconsciously balance it out with angsty fic. ;-) Speaking of which, I don't think I've read any of your fic, care to link me to some?

Even the show allows for angst, I think...There's a fine line with comedy that they excel in, bridging the gap between the disturbing, the emotional, and the outlandish..

I mean, Howard and Vince have heaps of issues, right?

I haven't read too much RPS yet, though ironically, I'm working on a rather schmoopy when-Noel-and-Julian-first-met fic right now. I used to shy away from RPS in fandoms, but you hit a point, especially with the Boosh, heh, when nothing squicks you anymore!

I think you're right, there's definitely an impulse to want to break apart these evocative characters...and (maybe) put 'em back together again. Seems a big theme with slash, h/c and all that...I'm a sucker for it.
