booshslashhaven | Arctic Boosh? (or: Howard and Vince in the Tundra. Sort of.)

Hello! I've been lurking around and commenting and reading here for a few months, but this is my first actual post. ~waves~ I'll be bringing you fanfic eventually (that's in progress), but in the meantime, I thought that I might as well wish you all a very Booshy Valentine's Day by introducing you to the two newest residents of ~~the arctic tundra~~ my backyard: snow!Howard and snow!Vince.

I happen to live in one of those areas of the US that was hit by the blizzards of a few weeks ago. Consequently, we had a lot of snow, and I wanted to sculpt something out of it. That eventually led me to realize that snowpeople are cool, but a snow!Howard and snow!Vince would be just about the best thing ever, because hey, who doesn't want slashy snowpeople to show off to the neighbors? :D

And so I started planning. And gathering supplies. And probably putting entirely too much thought into silly things like height differential, and the size of Howard's eyes, and how to sculpt Vince's nose.

My first couple of attempts failed, because it was so cold that the snow was too dry and refused to pack. But I refused to give up, and my patience was rewarded with a warm-up this weekend, which meant melting, which meant wet snow that would pack. I leapt at the opportunity, and this is the result, just in time for Valentine's Day:

Howard's got a bit of a tum, but Vince loves that about him. Howard's wardrobe was put together out of borrowed bits and pieces, and he's particularly proud of the Muscular Taupe Hawaiian shirt.

Vince's look comes entirely from my closet, although he's still pouting because I wouldn't let him borrow my Mirrorball Top. It's a bit hard to see, but he has a sculpted nose, and his eyes are blue behind his sunglasses.

And here they are together. Snow!Vince and Snow!Howard are joined at the hip, much like the real (fictional) Howard and Vince. :D
